Biography
Ronald Ventura is one of the most prominent contemporary Filipino artists. Born in Manila, he earned his BFA in Painting from the University of Santo Tomas in 1993. He is renowned for his dynamic melding of realism, cartoons, and graffiti in his artworks. Ventura gained significant recognition after winning the prestigious Ateneo Art Awards in 2004 for his Human Study series, which led to a regional arts residency. He is considered the most successful Filipino contemporary artist, known for his multilayered works that combine various artistic styles and cultural references.
