Biography
Poklong Anading (b. 1975, Manila) is a contemporary Filipino artist known for his conceptual and multimedia approach to art. He studied under renowned artist Roberto Chabet and graduated from the College of Fine Arts, University of the Philippines in 1999 with a BFA in painting. Though he began as a painter, he has expanded his practice to include video, photography, and process-oriented sculpture and installation. His work often investigates themes of identity, anonymity, and social conditions. He is notably a two-time winner of the prestigious Ateneo Art Awards (2006 and 2008), marking him as one of the finest artists of his generation. His practice is characterized by its experimental nature and his ability to work across various media platforms.
